Matters. Rhyming
is an enormously powerful tool in songwriting. Consider just some of the important
effects of rhyme: rhyme elevates the importance placed on certain (rhyming) words
by the listener, it controls the felt pace of the song (depending on how the rhymes
fall), and it creates expectations about structure that must either be met or
creatively surmounted.
