What a Chorus Does

The Chorus is the most critical component of any popular song. Melodically it should be simple and immediately "Hummable," and Lyrically it should hammer home the central theme of your song. The Chorus is definitely not the place to introduce any new details or other new information. That's the Verse. The Chorus should also sound like it "Belongs" at the end of each Verse and at the end of the Bridge. The Chorus will always have the same melody and usually have the same lyrics.
